To break out from the details of the divorce–most in particular, now not wanting to divide the belongings–Diane makes a decision to take Zoe and Jake to peer Diane’s mother Grace in Woodstock. Diane has been estranged from hippie Grace, whom she in no way saw as a supportive mom, for two decades, so her youngsters have by no means met their own grandmother. Diane’s surprise choice is basically to get away from the lifestyle that stifled a glad life for her with Mark. She wants to reconnect together with her mom without letting Grace negatively influence the children with her ideals in free love and smoking and promoting pot. When they get to Woodstock, the kids find out that their grandmother is known around there as a dwelling legend rather than a loopy old woman. Diane, Zoe and Jake, with Grace’s encouragement, may find happiness in Woodstock–Jake with espresso-store waitress Tara, Zoe with natural butcher Cole, and Diane with musician/artisan furniture-crafter Jude–if not for Zoe’s need to overcome what she considers Cole’s barbaric career–and what Diane finds out about Grace and Jude’s history.
